Working in the beauty industry, a lot of people express they're insecurities to me. It makes me sad seeing how one little thing, such as a crooked nose, can make someone hate their appearance and themselves. Insecurities lead to lack of self esteem and confidence, which often lead to bigger social and relationship problems in one's life. In this post I share a few tips for feeling more confident and breaking down your comfort zones, hope you find it helpful!
observe other confident people
observe (and take notes) from other confident people. how do they walk? how do they interact with others in conversations? do they talk with their hands?
tip: you can even observe people you don't know, like a celebrity or a YouTuber
break little comfort zones
practice acting confident throughout your every day life, for example try smiling at random people at the grocery store, starting a conversation with someone in front of you in a line, wear a bold lipstick to walk your dog... when you practice breaking little confidence comfort zones, you learn how to break bigger ones!
tell yourself that you are confident
telling yourself that you are shy or an introvert, is trapping you to be more shy or introverted. start telling yourself, "I am confident, people want to talk to me, I am a fun person to be around..." even if you don't believe it (yet!)
don't be afraid to laugh at yourself
The first time you try something a confident person would feel comfortable doing, mishaps may happen. For example if you are speaking in public and you mess your speech up, try laughing it off! Truly confident people understand that mistakes happen for everyone, and life is too short to be embarassed over every little mishap.
the world is not judging you
you may feel like the whole world is judging you, but honestly most people are so hypercritical of themselves, they aren't even paying attention to you!
practice being confident in just being your authentic self, no matter how crazy or lame you may feel.
