When I discovered meditation, my life changed. I recommend meditation for everyone. We live in such a busy and fast paced world, it feels so good to take time to rest your mind and body. Meditation helps me sleep better, stress less, focus more, and overall feel happier :) I am so thankful that I discovered and placed meditation into my life.
this shouldn't be taken too seriously
You´re sitting alone in silence. It’s okay to laugh at yourself and It’s okay not to take meditation too seriously. I think people tend to put too much pressure on themselves to become the ¨perfect” meditator, when really meditation is one of the few things that we don´t have to think or try hard to do. A meditative and peaceful state is one of our most natural states!
find a quiet place
I recommend meditating in a quiet spot, where you will not fear that people will see you. Let's be honest, people who aren’t familiar with meditation might think you are a bit crazy if they catch a glimpse of you sitting alone in silence, haha!
When you are first starting out your meditation practice, it can be difficult to relax. You may not know what to think about (or what not to think about). Guided meditations can guide you into a state of relaxation and help you to release your thoughts. Even though I’ve been meditating for years, I still find guided meditations helpful, especially when my mind is super busy.
