Hi you all!
I wanted to share with you my top 5 natural moisturizers for dry skin. I am focusing this post on 100% plant based, pure, natural ingredients, not packaged cosmetic moisturizers (but maybe I will do a post about that in the future!). coconut oil
I am sure you have heard a ton about coconut oil's health and beauty benefits. Along with it's moisturizing properties, coconut oil is known to reduce skin inflammation, treat acne, and help with wound healing. I use coconut oil as a body, face, and hair moisturizer....oh and as a teeth whitener (google it!) :)
almond oil
Almond oil is lightweight, gentle, and nourishing. It is one of the best oils for people with sensitive or eczema prone skin.
Almond oil is also used as a carrier/base oil for many essential oils, so the scent and its benefits are completely customizable! To learn more about diluting essential oils for skin care, I recommend reading this post made by Aroma Web.
olive oil
Olive oil is an intense moisturizer, perfect for people with severely dry skin or those who have eczema. Since olive oil is on heavier side, make sure you start off using a little bit at a time, to prevent clogged pores.
shea butter
I found that shea butter absorbs into my skin better than most oils do. Shea butter is full of skin loving vitamins and fatty acids. Due to these vitamins and fatty acids, shea butter has manyanti-inflammatory properties and anti aging properties!
(I recommend purchasing from Alaffia's Every Day Shea line. Alaffia's products are of wonderful quality and they are on a mission is to alleviate poverty and encourage gender equality, by investing in empowerment projects for African Communities <3)
argan oil
A small drop of quality argan oil has so many benefits! I love mixing argan oil with heavy packaged cosmetic moisturizers, because it helps thin it out as well as adding an extra glow boost. According to Healthline, Argan oil is known to protect against sun damage (thank you antioxidants!), reduce inflamation in people with psoriasis and rosacea, treat acne, heal skin infections, improve wound healing, soothe atopic dermatitis, reduce oiliness, prevent stretch marks, and prevent skin aging!
