I love wearing hats during the colder months, but I never know how to style my hair around them. so this weekend I pulled out my hat collection and mannequin and tried many different hairstyles from space buns to french twists. these are the top three most simple and universally flattering styles that I created. hope you find it helpful!
side braid or fishtail
this style is so cute and easy, plus it works under most hats and hair accessories!
tip: pull some strands out for a more tousled/messy look!
low messy bun
a low messy bun is super simple and perfect for beanies, earmuffs, and hair wraps.
top french braids
when you wear a hat, you typically get messy, frizzy "hat hair". this style is great for preventing hat hair and adding some texture and details to a regular all-down hairstyle.
how to: starting at the top of your head (bang area) start a small french braid that runs down the side of your face, until it becomes free hanging. repeat on the other side.
tip: you do not need to make the french braid pretty or clean because the hat will cover the top of the braids ;)
